Bread & Roses Interview 6.11.10 – Host:  Joel Saxe

Jean Anyon, Professor of Educational and Social Policy at the CUNY Graduate Center outlines her critique of neoliberal “school reform” elaborated in her book “Radical Possibilities” (2005).   We discuss the scapegoating of teachers and urban public schools for larger conditions of race/class inequality, progressive teacher activism in New York City, social justice curriculum, and the need to situate an understanding of school reform within a wider grassroots movement for economic justice.
